iPad vs Paper:
Why Printing PDFs Saves Your Eyes (and Wallet)
We assume that because we can carry 1000 books on an iPad, we will actually read them. But the reality is eye strain, distractions (Notifications!), and the inability to scribble margins like a maniac.
Fact: Reading on paper improves retention by 20-30% compared to screens, according to multiple educational studies.
1. The Cost Math: Printing vs Buying
Let's say you want to read a 500-page standard reference book.
| Option | Cost | Waiting Time |
|---|---|---|
| Start Bookstore (Original) | ₹800 - ₹1200 | 3-5 Days |
| OnlinePrintout (B&W) | ₹300 (approx) | 2-3 Days |
At ₹0.60 per page (Double-sided), printing is often 60-70% cheaper than buying imported technical books or medical guides.
2. Where to find Legal Free eBooks?
Project Gutenberg
Over 70,000 free eBooks. Best for classics like Pride & Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, etc. completely legal.
Open Library
Internet Archive's project. Millions of books available to borrow or download.
3. How to Bind Printed eBooks?
Since these are thick (300+ pages), do NOT stapler them.
- Spiral Binding (Recommended): It allows the book to lay flat. You can fold it back to hold in one hand while reading on the bus/metro.
- Divide into Volumes: If a book is 1000 pages, ask us to split it into Vol 1 and Vol 2. It makes it lighter to carry.
4. Privacy & Security
